Google Improves On How It Deals With Reconsideration Requests

After the whole no-follow ‘bombshell’ of recent coupled with the fact that- lets face it- this is not the first time Google has thrown a spanner in the works, it is a welcome change that they have improved on something that has driven SEOs and webmasters round the bend for years – not knowing if your site is still being penalised by Google.

Search Engines Unite Against Duplicate Content

The major search engines – Google, Yahoo and MSN – recently each announced that they were uniting on support of a tag that allows you to specify the canonical version of a page. It may sound technical, but in layman’s terms it is actually straight forward, and will help you to avoid duplicate content issues.

Google Releases Beginners Search Engine Optimisation Guide

Following feedback at various digital conferences and within their own Google Groups news lists, Google has released a Search Engine Optimization Starter Guide aimed at new webmasters and beginners. For the uninitiated, search engine optimisation (SEO) is the process of optimising your website so it can appear in the “organic” results of search engines.
