In today’s post I want to go over some WordPress SEO plugins.
There are many tweaks you can make to further optimise your blog for search engines.
Here are 10 of the best SEO plugins you can install to help choosing the right tags, avoid content duplication, optimize your post titles and more.
Title tags, Meta descriptions and URLs
All in One SEO Pack
It auto-generates title tags, meta descriptions and keywords for you or allows you to override them on a per-post/per-page basis.
SEO Title Tag
This plugin lets you optimise the title tags for every blog post and category.
Category SEO Meta Tags
It lets you add custom meta tags for category pages.
SEO Slugs
It stops your URLs from becoming too long by removing common words such as ‘the’, ‘in’, ‘a’, ‘from’, etc.
Improve cross linkage
Sitemap Generator plugin
Highly customisable XML sitemap generator.
Similar posts plugin
Clever little tool to display posts containing similar content.
Backlinks
Link exchange
Plugin that makes it easy to manage and trade your backlinks.
It creates a form for other blog owners to fill out with their site details and the URL of the page that has a link to your site. The plugin automatically checks that the webmaster really did put a link to your blog on that page and monitors the page rank of the page on which your link is being displayed.
This plugin will allow your visitors to share your content via social bookmarking sites and/or e-mailing the post to a friend.
Avoid duplicate content
All in One SEO Pack
It lets you implement canonical tags in case your blog has several different URLs which display the same content.
Meta Robots WordPress plugin
It makes it very easy to add noindex and nofollow robots meta tags.
Redirection
If your category structure is creating problems but you still want your categories to be indexable, this plugin will easily help you manage 301 redirects.

Great list of plug-ins, I find the All-in-One SEO pack the most useful, but I haven’t used several of the others before. I especially like the look of the Similar Posts Plugin. Do you use any of these plugins?
