First Glimpse Of Google’s Rival To Apple’s iPad

After releasing the Nexus One as a direct competitor to Apple’s iPhone it appears as though Google want to compete with Apple for in another market as well – the computer tablet.

The images - which were released on the official Chromium site - hint that the tablet will use a keyboard based interface with an overall simplistic design. The site also released a video showing how the tablet could possible work and it appears as though it will give the user great control on the interface as a whole allowing you to view multiple browsers.

The Google tablet will inevitably use the new Google Chrome OS system which has been slated for release in the second half of 2010 meaning that it may be a while until Google make any major advancement in the tablet market just yet. This will make the market pretty interesting if Google do end up releasing their own tablet – will their late arrival into the market prove costly or will Google take advantage of any problems users experience with the iPad? I guess only time will tell…
