iCrossing yesterday released the US search engine market share figures for September.
According to the iCrossing data Google holds a 76.7% share of searches, with Bing increasing slightly month on month to 8.2% and Yahoo decreasing to 11.1%. This data is representative of actual traffic levels received from search engines, picked up by iCrossing’s own analytics tracking across enterprise level sites, compared to the web as a whole which is what Hitwise and comScore stats are based upon.
When these stats are compared to those of Hitwise and comScore the impact of utilising the web as a whole are clearly evident. As different as these three sets of stats are, one main trend can be seen throughout: Google is still top and is still growing!
