Firefox is about to reach a very impressive 1 billion downloads within the next 24 hours. On top of that Firefox have stated that it now has almost on third of the browser market with 31%. This could further increase as Microsoft are planning to offer EU buyers a list of potential browsers when they first install the new Windows 7 software. This comes in light of EU competition regulators ruling that bundling IE with Windows hurt competition.
The record 1 billion downloads includes all Firefox versions since its introduction in 2004. The newest version of Firefox is nearly upon us and screen shots show a much more polished looking interface that has taken a lot of inspiration from Google Chrome.
