Forrester research has released new information in a recent report hammering home the inevitable future of online advertising.
The report highlights in particular the enormous growth of Pay-Per-Click (PPC) and Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) which has doubled within the past 5 years. For instance, by 2014, digital marketing will become a $55 billion industry in the US.
Although PPC is considered to be the most prominent out of the two digital marketing techniques, SEO has seen a massive increase in popularity where organisations strive to drive traffic naturally to their websites. The Forrester’s report allows estimations to be made that predict the US will spend close to $5 Billion on SEO by 2014 which is truly staggering.
The tracking of traffic, strategic planning and market targeting which can be achieved through online marketing opens a new, interesting and efficient avenue for organisations to explore. It’s just a matter of time before everyone starts joining the expedition.
