We have written a lot about real time search of late however we all feel that it is an area of great interest. We are quite possibly witnessing the beginning of something that will change online marketing as we have grwon to know it… Anyway Bing have taken that step further into incorporating real time into their search results by integrating real time data by using prominent and prolific Twitterers. Bing mentions that these will be from many different ‘spheres’ which includes Tweets from their own search technology and business sphere such as Danny Sullivan through to more general spheres such as Al Gore.
When searching for these for these people in conjunction with Twitter such as ‘Al Gore Twitter’ or ‘@algore’ you will see a snippet of the person and their recent Tweets (a snippet of how it can be displayed can be seen here)
Apparently this addition has started to work from today however I have seen no evidence of it working in the UK after trying it out this morning so perhaps it will take a bit before it crosses the pond. However I think this is a good step by Bing and shows that they are giving serious thought into how to integrate real time. Over to you Google…
